DESCRIPTION: APW - Illinois, Grade 189, 21J, 16S, 14K gold original false box hinge HC with superb ornate engraving detail that includes a bird on rear, white enamel DS Gothic numeral dial, SW-LS, fully capped lever escapement, gold jewel settings, gold train, bright spotted pattern nickel damascene, s#2256750. Gross weight of assembled watch 63.5 dwt (98.8 g). A spectacular example of Illinois' finest quality Getty model movement. This fully marked version of the Grade 189 is quite rare, the late Bill Meggers estimating that only 190 examples of the hunting case version were marked "Double Roller" and that a portion of this total included movements lacking the Grade number marking that is found on the present example.

ESTIMATE: $1800 - $2600
